It is not just Lake Titicaca suffering......
The weather this year in Bolivia has been different from the norm. Usually by mid September one can expect a few rain showers and a few afternoon thunderstorms. But this year the rains have started late or in some parts not at all. The basin that feed Lake Titicaca has been dry compared to previous years. And so the lake level has dropped. It has started to rain *some* and so we expect that the drop in the lake level will slow down and then regain somewhat.
The lack of thunderstorms has affected us here. No lightning ==> no collection of lightning energy and turning it into gold. Trust me, we know how to do this. But first there has to be some serious thunder with damage to electrical infrastructure. In the last few months we've worked out some representations of companies that sell protective gear for lightning and power quality control. Now what we need is for a few good storms to wake people up to the fact that their enterprises are at risk from Mother Nature.
